About Lubricants

Many people mistake the functional use of lubricant as aiding in vaginal dryness or to make sex less painful. Whilst lubricants can be used to address these matters, those in the know use lubricants because it can enhance sexual pleasure and sensuality by up to 95%.

There are several broad categories of lubricants out there, but the most popular tend to be water based lubricants as they are most versatile and can be used with a condom. The downside is that they do dry out faster than other lubricant types. The other popular broad category is silicone lubricants which are much more slick and longer lasting, though they cannot be used with silicone made items as it will cause corrosion and not as easy to clean after use as water based ones.

Then there are many variants, including hybrid (made from both water and silicone which is nice compromise between the two), ones that give different sensations such as warming or cooling, or flavoured for a different intimate experience. The better quality lubricants will have better ingredients, and some also offer organic and natural ingredients for sensitive skin or to minimise risk of irritation.

Lubricants are one of the easiest things to introduce into the bedroom and has the potential to make huge improvements on the experience, so go ahead and give it a try.
